John Darvell‘s Berkshire based company nocturn creates and delivers experimental contemnporary narrative performances based on topical social issues. Using a mixture of dance and accessible technology, they engage audiences in interactive artistic events that they may experience accidentally, either online, or in an installation setting. On Monday 21st March The Revelation of Miss White will premier on Facebook and deliver a three week series of dance-film installments and accompanying intensive audience engagement in this online mystery series.
The series follows the fictional Miss White character, watching her mesmerising moves as she shares her unfolding and unfurling innermost thoughts on social media; sometimes through daring online dialogue and sometimes through a series of dance shorts, using her visceral and vivid physicality to provide insights into her thought provoking story, one which will shapeshift with audience engagement. Tuesday nights (GMT) are particularly physical – definitely worth keeping an eye on – but life goes on all day, every day. Facebook never sleeps.

The project is created by nocturn who produced the innovative Facebook dance mystery Dare You Watch in 2014, engaging high numbers of new online audiences who enjoyed a touch of the macabre. Artistic director John Darvell has pulled together key members of the same team to bring this disturbing new adventure to life. Company dancer Harriet Waghorn offers an electrifying performance as Miss White. The story was devised by nocturn and transmedia writer David Varela, with cinematography and video editing by Ben Johnston, and sound score by John Chambers, mask design by Jessica Kay and house dressing by Chantal Addley. Tessa Howell is the nocturn producer.
The Miss White project is part of a larger period of research and development and range of activities, supported using public funding from Arts Council England, and working with West Berkshire Council and venues The Corn Exchange (Newbury), South Hill Park (Bracknell) and Cornerstone (Didcot).
