Glide through the airlock and float free with Joe Lott Dance…

Promising company, Joe Lott Dance, take to the road this autumn for their first tour.  Catch their original brand of energising and innovative dance at Pegasus.  Joe Lott Dance take on micro-gravity and mythology in a dynamic billing at Pegasus Theatre on Friday 30 October: including new work EVA and a preview of Detox by renowned guest choreographer Urja Desai Thakore of Pagrav Dance (BBC, National Theatre, South Bank).  The performances will be followed by a Q&A opportunity. This promises to be a delightful, thought-provoking evening of dance from two innovative choreographers.

Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) is NASA-speak for spacewalking. The Apollo moon-missions of the late sixties inspire a young couple. Captivated by the energy and hope of the space program, they dream of reaching for the stars themselves… Beyond the sliver of atmosphere that encapsulates life on earth, their fragile human bodies roll, tumble, pitch and yaw in the dark uncertainties of space.

Established choreographer Urja Desai Thakore (BBC Young Dancer, South Bank, National Theatre) presents a sneak peek excerpt from ‘Detox’ ahead of its London premiere. Detox is a contemporary dance work rooted in the Indian classical style of Kathak, exploring physical, mental and spiritual detoxification. How, through a process of cleansing, we can begin to deconstruct notions of excess and consumption and finally discover our true inner potential.

Mining the passions and conflicts of hero myths from around the globe, Joe Lott’s Tender is a duet set in a timeless, dreamlike landscape. Two adventurers embark on a gruelling journey, creating a vivid and complex visual tapestry as they go.
